What is the prize bond?
100 taka prize bond is a type of paper currency system introduced by the government of Bangladesh with the aim of savings. It was first introduced in 1974 in Bangladesh. All functions of prize bond are managed by Bangladesh Bank.
100 Taka prize bond Reason
The Government of Bangladesh has launched this program to increase its own internal resources. 100 taka prize bond program has been introduced considering the saving tendency of all classes of people.
Places where 100 taka prize bond can be bought or sold
Currently, prize bonds can be bought and sold from only four institutions in Bangladesh. The institutions are
| 1. All Bangladesh Bank offices. (except Mymensingh office) |
| 2. All scheduled banks. (except Sharia based banks) |
| 3. All post offices in Bangladesh. |
| 4. All Bureau of Savings Offices under the Directorate of National Savings. |
Currently the price of prize bond
Presently only prize bonds of Rs 100 are available in the market in Bangladesh. No application is required to buy a prize bond of 100 rupees under any circumstances the prize bond can be bought or sold in exchange of cash.

Prize Bond Draw Rules
Prize bond draws are usually conducted in a single general manner or as a draw of the same number for each series. Presently in Bangladesh, only the Dhaka District Commissioner’s office holds prize bond draw activities. However, if there is a public holiday on 31st or if the prize bond cannot be held due to any other reason, then the prize bond draw is held on another working day.
